This award will honour the kitchen designer that works within an Irish kitchen studio, who has created a kitchen in the past two years that exceeds a £25,000/€27,500 budget including appliances. The kitchen will fulfill the client’s requirements and lifestyle in terms of practicality and design. The designer will be able to demonstrate how and why they choose the materials and appliances and will outline any innovative solutions or modifications they may have used to create their final design. The designer will also be able to explain how they overcame any problems and show a breakdown of how they managed their budget.
- Only one entry per designer is permitted.
- All entries must have been designed and installed in the last two years.
- Stated budgets for designs must be for the completion of the entire project, including installation, appliances and VAT where appropriate. In other words, the final total paid by the client will exceed £25,000/€27,500.
- All entrants will be required to include a minimum of 500 words and no more than 1,000 words describing the design submitted. Questions to be addressed are in the entry booklet.
- High-res (300dpi) images of the project are also required on disc or memory stick.
- The judges of this category will choose their finalists, who will then be invited to give a 10-minute presentation of their submitted design at the Hilton Belfast on week commencing Monday 3rd October 2011.
